Bonham field notes · Buying & ownership
Turn the handoff into a clear record of the vehicle, documents and unanswered questions.
Bring the written agreement and check the vehicle and documents you are actually receiving. Record differences, ask how open items will be handled and keep a copy of the handoff information. A delivery-day checklist helps organize the conversation; it does not certify condition or replace the transaction documents.
Before · At the vehicle · Before you leave
An editorial preparation sequence, not a promise of Bonham scheduling, inspection services, delivery availability or specific contract terms.
Before
Confirm the appointment and what documents, keys, equipment and payment arrangements apply to your transaction.
At the vehicle
Match identity and agreed equipment, note visible questions and ask for the relevant operating instructions.
Before you leave
Keep the signed documents and record who is responsible for any unresolved item and the agreed next step.
Begin with the exact vehicle you agreed to receive
Compare the VIN and configuration with the written agreement and supplied documents. If a detail differs, pause and ask for an explanation before treating it as resolved. A similar color or trim name is not an adequate substitute for confirming the actual identity and agreed equipment.
Look over the vehicle in safe stationary conditions and record visible questions clearly. Distinguish your observation from a diagnosis. Ask how a concern will be evaluated and documented; do not assume a verbal acknowledgment establishes a particular repair, reimbursement or deadline.
Know which documents answer which questions
Organize the transaction documents, any applicable coverage information and the vehicle operating resources. Ask which documents are final and whether any are still pending. Keep a readable copy of what you sign and request clarification of unexplained terms.
The FTC’s financing guidance advises reading the paperwork and understanding the agreement. Your actual transaction determines required documents, payment conditions and any open obligations. This article gives no state-specific registration, tax or insurance instructions and does not establish a right to cancel or return a vehicle.
Ask for explanations while the vehicle is stationary
Identify the manual and applicable instructions for controls or features that are new to you. Request an appropriate explanation where available. Confirm the equipment actually installed rather than assuming a brochure feature is present because the trim sounds similar.
Driver-assistance systems have limits. Do not test a warning or braking feature by creating a hazardous situation. If operation remains unclear, record the question and seek the applicable instructions or qualified help before relying on the feature. Personal devices and connected accounts also deserve deliberate attention; keep passwords and codes private.
Create a receipt for the unresolved items
Use a short line for each open question: what you observed, who will respond, which evidence is needed and what next action was actually agreed. Ask for written confirmation of promises. Do not fill blank dates with an assumed commitment or treat a requested accessory as included without the applicable agreement.
Confirm the handoff arrangements directly with Bonham Chrysler for your actual purchase, including pickup or delivery eligibility, timing and any charges. The core delivery page provides the relevant contact path. This checklist adds a way to keep the conversation organized; it does not create a new dealership policy.

Questions readers ask
Does a completed checklist certify the vehicle’s condition?
No. It records your questions and the handoff discussion. It is not a technical inspection or condition guarantee.
Does this article promise free delivery or a particular pickup date?
No. Confirm eligibility, timing, charges and arrangements for your actual transaction directly.
