RAM 1500 service in Bonham
Identify the powertrain before choosing the repair
A daily driver, a family pickup and a weekend tow vehicle can be the same RAM 1500. Its service plan needs to account for all three jobs—and for the engine and equipment actually installed.

A repair plan for your RAM 1500
RAM 1500 service is not one universal oil change or diagnostic routine. Different model years include different gasoline engines, electrified starting systems and other configurations. A rough idle, a starting complaint and a towing vibration also lead to different tests. Bonham handles maintenance, electrical diagnosis and mechanical repair, with the findings explained before additional work is authorized.
Ask about same-day diagnosis when available. Arrival time, technician availability and the testing required affect timing. Agree on the initial diagnostic authorization and next update; review the findings and repair estimate before additional work. Diagnosis and completed repair are separate steps.
What the symptom changes about the inspection
Rough running or an engine warning
The useful distinction is whether the symptom appears at a cold start, at idle or during acceleration. Engine testing can involve ignition, fuel delivery, air management and electrical inputs; a fault code identifies a starting point, not the part that must be replaced.
Battery drain or intermittent starting
Battery condition, charging performance and electrical draw are different questions. A new battery may not resolve a circuit or accessory keeping the vehicle awake. Include recent accessory installation so the factory system and added equipment can be considered together.
Vibration, tire wear or braking changes
A tire balance concern, worn steering component and brake-related vibration require different inspections. Explain whether it happens while cruising or braking and whether trailer use changes it. An alignment should follow the findings rather than substitute for diagnosis.
Maintenance that matches this vehicle
Oil and filter service, brakes, tires, cooling and fluid maintenance should follow the exact year, engine and use. Towing, repeated short trips and prolonged idling are worth discussing with the advisor. A Tradesman, Lone Star or Laramie badge does not by itself establish the required oil specification or repair parts.

RAM 1500 service questions
Does my RAM 1500 need diesel service?
Only if the truck has a diesel engine. The model name covers different powertrains across years. Give us the VIN so maintenance, fluids and diagnosis are matched to your truck.
Can you investigate a problem that only appears with a trailer?
Yes, discuss the conditions with our service team. Confirm whether the trailer needs to accompany the truck and how the concern can be assessed safely before bringing it.
Should I book an oil change for a check-engine light?
Tell us about the warning when scheduling. An oil-service appointment and diagnostic testing are different work requests; the advisor can plan the appropriate visit.
